This is not how to signal/switch lanes properly. First, you look for the window of opportunity. Then signal AS you are moving into the lane. You do not signal *before* you switch lanes. It is an indicator, not a request to enter the lane.

When I put my signal on to change lanes (which I always do, since using turn signals is almost a fetish with me) and check my mirror and I see you frantically accelerate from 5 car-lengths back to close the distance before I can move over, and then I swerve towards your lane - I already know I’m NOT going to hit you. But YOU don’t know that.
That adrenaline dumping panic in your chest from thinking I was about to crash into your side at 75 mph? Yeah- that’s just me - keeping you guessing.
