How do parents know all this? Or are you a teacher?

Just ask for the test scores. You have a right to know them.

Do you know what this testing is called through GMU?

Does her school have an online parent portal? We have access all of our DC’s standardized test scores. DC has attend two schools (one public, one private) and both had a parent portal.

I see people mentioning state or national testing here as well as percentiles. Are your kids older, or did you have to request the testing info somehow? My kid has been in school 3 years and we’ve never had anyone mention tests and have never received any of these scores.

I did have a classroom teacher tell me at conferences that she’d be given higher math problems and that she’s reading above grade level. I assumed this info was just from class work and doing one on one or small group assessment. Have there been tests that the school just doesn’t share?
