Is the Tuftex better than a builder grade carpet for stairs and hallway? We have builder grade in hallway and Shaw Find your comfort 2 in other areas like basement and basement stairs (waterfall install).

The Shaw carpet we have feels so soft and nice and I guess I am worried if this tuftex would be a bad choice for stairs to upper level and upstairs hallway.

Georgetown Carpet.

We had one made at a carpet store. Karastan, as I recall. Many years ago in NJ. Turned out great. Had a bigger piece made for the bottom landing.

Anyone have recommendations for where to purchase/who can install custom stair runners?
