One of the newer garmins with the highly visible watch faces. Easy to read if you are older. I am waiting for my current garmin to die before I replace it with a newer model.
Coros I have heard a lot of good things about, but Ive been using a garmin for so long that I don't want to learn a new interface platform

165 would probably work OK for OP.

But they all have their quirks, including screen quality. That’s why I suggested watching the reviews. There is a reason he makes an entire living doing those reviews.

Past 165 or 265 would be “excessive” for OP, maybe. But not generally. I wouldn’t do a full distance iron man with a 165. Maybe a 265, but probably not. It all depends on the use case.

So, yeah, watch the reviews.

Op here thx I think the 265 tracks strength training but the 165 does not. Strength tracking is a requirement for me.

Strength training tracking isn't super useful. It's too much of a pain in the ass to use.

I track strength on my Fitbit, not willing to give that up.

I've had a Fitbit and a Garmin. They both "track" strength training but my wrist was constantly buzzing and it was constantly incorrect. I stopped using that activity and now do "Cardio" when I lift weights.

I totally agree. I think the 965 has maps which is fine if you are a hiker or doing really long runs. I don't know much about the 165 and there is probably not many reviews of it since it's brand new. DC Rainmaker usually wears the watch for a week before a review. The Compare feature on Garmin's website is really helpful.

This. If you aren't willing to, Coros is a Gamrin rip off, some features are better implemented better than others.

Replacing a Fitbit Versa 2. Running 20 miles a week, 3 days weight lifting, some road biking and walking as primary activities. Please recommend fitness watch. I want better metrics for running and other fitness activities. Not concerned about streaming music with watch.
