I am so sorry for your loss op. I lost my beloved guy a few months ago and completely understand how you feel.
I had to stop reading replies because I’m now crying. But i’m sure he knew how loved he was.

Am so sorry. I lost my 13.5 year old on Friday. I still think I will see her in her bed or waiting for breakfast when I come downstairs. Facebook is cruelly showing me so many memories of her. Crying as I sit here missing her so much and wondering if I did right by her or not at the end.

I am very sorry for your loss. DH cleaned out all of his stuff and put it away immediately. Now his area is just empty. I am not sure if that is better or worse than looking at it. Probably doesn’t matter. It all is terrible. Peace to you and your pup.

I am very sorry for your painful loss. Pets are incredibly special since they love us and accept us no matter what we are going through. The unconditional love and devotion truly make them man/women's "best friend". Take time to grieve and know that he was a very lucky dog given the strong attachment you had with him.

New poster here. I just love that phrase "heart dog". I've never heard that before but it is so descriptive. My first dog was my heart dog and I thought that I would never love another dog that way again. But then my third dog was my soul dog. I am so thankful to have had all of them in my life. And OP, just know, that your dog knew they were loved.


I hope he knew how much I loved him. It was hard to know the right thing to do at the end, and I fear he might have been in pain or scared. I was with him from a tiny puppy until the very last moment and I wish I could go back and do it all over again.

The house is so quiet. I hate it. It is amazing how much life they bring to your house. So sorry for your loss.

And it feels like such a lonely loss as I know so many people think he was just a dog. But he was my guy and I loved him so much. We had been together for a long time and shared so much of life. I find myself crying at random times.
