New poster here. I just love that phrase "heart dog". I've never heard that before but it is so descriptive. My first dog was my heart dog and I thought that I would never love another dog that way again. But then my third dog was my soul dog. I am so thankful to have had all of them in my life. And OP, just know, that your dog knew they were loved.
