Hello, my son is currently playing for a travel team in WA. We are tentatively supposed to be moving on Ft Belvoir base. I did see online that Gunston fields are not too far away from where we will be living.
So many options🤪

My son is 2013. I've reached out to a few clubs and they all have an opportunity for my son to attend practice once we get there. Thank you for your feedback.

Traffic is bear here, it might depend more on where you end up living. If your kids is already top quality (has played travel for 2-3 years already already, physically large for his age, playing a year up already, extra training and skills clinics), SYC would be the best option if you will remain in the area for 2-3 years in order to segway into their ECNL program. If development is still needed and or your residence is further away, LMVSC's top team is a good choice for 1-2 years, Alexandria can be a stretch, then GUNSTON.

Don't think any of the clubs you mentioned play ECNL. Alexandria has an MLS Next team starting at u13.

Gunston or LMVSC are definitely the closest to Belvoir, so I agree there. As to which has the "better training environment" (which is obviously an individual's opinion), I'd go with the club run by the former DC United Academy Director, which is Gunston. Looking at the credentials of the folks running the club, it's my opinion that Gunston wins hands down.

SYC if your son is a highly competitive boy. Otherwise LMVSC or Gunston. Alexandria if you want to drive that far. But you really need to factor in the commute to practice. It can be awful to go 10 miles.

if you'll be living on base or near Ft. Belvoir, SYC and Gunston are good and convenient options for a 10 yr old travel kid.
Alexandria will be a likely be a farther hike - depending on fields and practice times and your family logistics. But the above two clubs are very convenient to Ft.B if that's a priority.

NVSC is a ways away from that location and not known as a hotbed of development. Gunston is also a fairly small program and not really known for sending kids to ECNL/MLSN, much less DCU. Of those three, I'd strongly suggest Alexandria. Living in that area, I'd suggest including SYC, they have very strong 2013 and 2014 teams, and the 2014 coach in particular has a long track record on the boys side.

Alexandria Soccer Association is good and well run, but unless your son is a superstar, temper the expectations for the future.

My family and I are moving to the DMV area this summer.
I have a 10 year old son that will need a travel soccer club when we get there.
I have noticed there are so many clubs to choose from so I have narrowed it down to a couple of clubs and I'm looking for feedback from anyone with experience in these clubs.
NVSC
Alexandria Soccer Club
Gunston Soccer club.
My goal is to eventually get my son involved with DC united academy or the ECLN.
