My parents have a cockapoo and had a cocker. He was the most well trained dog (no credit, came that way from the rescue) and the one time he pee’d inside the house was the tip off of what he eventually diagnosed with cancer, but he never had accidents in the house/when excited.

They look very different as the King Charles is multi colored and the cockers are generally one color.

Yes but they have heart issues and not a long life span.

Cocapoos are popular now instead. A better temprament.

It was the Disney movie. And it was a problem -- they are not easy pets.

Dalmatians and Cockers were big because of the Disney movies, but those specific movies aren't popular anymore.

All the cockers I know peed constantly in the house.

I don't know much about them but I have an idea in my head that they can be aggressive and unpredictable, and aren't good family dogs. Whether or not that is accurate, maybe that's what the general public thinks too so they've fallen out of fashion.

There are certain trends in dogs, though, I think and I've never thought about what causes them. Like, French bulldogs and corgis have obviously soared in popularity since I was a kid, and I don't see nearly as many Yorkies, Beagles or Rottweilers as I used to.
