They already did. Both played Freshmen and sophomore years for HS. Level was low and injury risk high.

They both just did mlsnext year round next two years.

My DD's HS coach is terrible so she picked club exclusively since we play year round. A lot of her HS friends are on her club team so she isn't missing out. Works great.

My son would consider giving up HS for club if the club team was high level and required it - MLS Next. He has considered giving up HS just because the HS coach is terrible but he has such a blast playing with school friends so he is going to suck it up. His club team doesn’t have games during the fall (MD HS season) and I don’t know of any around us that do so he would really miss playing for those months.

Would your kid give up playing high school to play year round (during the school year)?

Would my kid give up HS soccer to play club year round? Yes he would if he HAD to, but he doesn't have to. He plays both ECNL and HS. He plays years round. ECNL schedule is reduced in the Spring to accommodate HS.

Most HS kids in NOVA don't have games with the club. So many kids join the HS team.

Our HS kids play both. Our club is GA. They play for HS in the fall. Once state playoffs are over, club practice starts in November. Winter practice, indoor leagues and futsal. Then spring club season through June. They get about 4 weeks in July off before HS practice begins.

CA plays HS in winter, or at least did in the recent past.

Isn’t this what the GA teams do?
