At our non-DMV private, in with a 3.9 uw GPA in EA. Rest are deferred.

In RD, if you have above a 3.8 UW you have to let the college counseling office know that it is one of your top 3 choices (in the follow-up meetings in early Feb) and you are seriously considering attending. They will ask for the top three choices. Usually in if it’s a top 3.

Under 3.8uw but above 3.7uw and seriously considering goes to WL.

3.7 and under auto-denied.

It’s weird to not consider AP scores. I mean it’s another data point that supports the grades.

The whole point of AP's were to provide rigor in high schools that didn't otherwise have it. If schools want to give credit for them, that is great, but that is a 'between senior year and matriculation" thing, and APs and the number of AP classes was never meant to be a race to the brass ring.

Not just test optional. They will consider ACT or SAT but not AP.

And they just won’t consider AP test scores at all as part of admissions. Presumably you can still receive credit.

This year you could choose to not submit ACT or SAT and submit AP scores. Next year they won’t consider AP scores.

I told people it's not a swing back to tests. Colleges in red states will require tests. Colleges in blue states won't. Ivies will be split.
