My kids is there now. Did ED. Had a few moments of buyers remorse last year but the remembered what they liked about the school. Doing well there now; very happy and thinks it was a good choice.

You’re basically posting a bogus expression of regret to get everyone to tell you what a fantastic school your kid has gotten into and how great s/he must be. B/c if you’re serious, you’re an idiot.

Chicago is a great school. Hopefully they love it; however, if they do fine academically but don't enjoy it, they'll likely have good transfer options!

Why did your child apply ED if it wasn’t their first choice?

I think once the reality hits of going off to college, any school can feel intimidating, even more so if a reach. Some level of nervousness, both from DC and parents, is normal.

Seems odd you would want a name-brand school. If applying ED, wouldn’t you want a school that was a great fit and that your kid loved? Especially not a great idea with Chicago, which can be overly rigorous/high stress.

DS had same feeling after ED1 last year. Buyers remorse is common. He’s now loving it as a first year student. The buyers remorse started to wane last year after he saw many of the RD rejections. By late March he was relieved, and by October he was having a great time. Every kid is different of course, but that’s our experience in case it’s informative.

It's normal to have cold feet. It's a great school.

Feeling some ex-post regret for having gotten in. Not sure Chicago was the right choice for DC. Locked into ED2 to increase chances at a name-brand school. Umm..too late to change now.
