Insular community that values its status games. A lot of the games are based in professional/educational success. There’s still a lame money culture, but it’s less central than it is in most high income areas.

Not very diverse, especially downtown near restaurants. I would look in upper NW.

Did you say $1,500 a month or $1.5 million
because you'll get the 2nd in Bethesda but not the first for within several hundred miles of it.

Moving from a lower COL area our current house is BIG but we will downsize

Ideal would be
Two car garage
3 BR + office
2.5 - 3 baths
Not a fixer upper, we will paint do carpeting but nothing extensive
Access to restaurants things to do 15 minutes
We are interracial couple so want to be comfortable with Diversity in the town

Look in Rockville or Silver Spring.

You can get a 3 br 1.5M most anywhere in Montgomery County, which would be a 30 minute drive to Bethesda. Will one of you be working in Bethesda? Why the focus?

You can buy in Bethesda for that budget but you have to be prepared to act fast. Inventory is very low and anything desirable disappears very quickly. I would advise renting first so you can figure the place out for yourself.

We’re moving into o DC area. Would like no more than 30 minute commute to Bethesda. Any suggestion on towns were we can get 3 BRs/3000 sf for less than 1.5? Single Family or townhouse is fine. We’re empty nesters, working professionals interested in safe neighborhood, low crime, some diversity, MC or UMC, our HHI is 300, not rural
