Idk. This is the type of dramatic breakup stuff I had when I was college.

As an adult my breakups were more like one of us saying “this isn’t working” and the other saying “ok” and that was it.

How long did it take you to "say your part"? Ugh, sounds awful. If he knows what is what, he will just ghost from here on out.

Just broke up- never in my life did I have a long conversation about it with a BF.

Isn’t it good to have time and partly mourn the relationship so you won’t be so reactive when he speaks?

Ok, I can do this. I took about 15 minutes to reminisce and thank him for our time together so imagine he’ll do the same (maybe even in less time).

Break up talk????

BF and I are on the verge of a breakup and unfortunately misjudged how long “the talk” would take. I was able to say my part today but due to a work emergency BF didn’t get a chance to say his. He anticipates he’ll be out of pocket for the next 36 hours, so we’re planning to resume Thursday. Problem is I’ve already started grieving the relationship and am worried I’ll be too in the weeds by Thursday to listen to him as thoughtfully as he did me. I know I owe him the same respect and consideration. Any advice on how I should handle the next day and a half?
