It seems like teachers are desperate for subject area curriculum training and tech support that actually works for grading etc,. And instead get training that is not tailored to their grade level/classes and tech solutions that they didn’t ask for, like Remind, or three different email accounts to check.

I would agree with this except to point out that some solutions aren’t just about teachers but about the parents/students/community. Remind is about being able to communicate with all families. I do agree that three different email accounts is ridiculous. There should be a way for them all to forward to one email address.

Principals have been given unfunded mandates like Restorative Justice, and forced to implement unpopular programs like "Honors for All." Basically, they've been the public face of whatever harebrained scheme Central Office picked up at their Extension School EdPolicy PhD programs.

But are we seeing the tide turn? On this board over the last couple of days we've seen the PHS principal break ranks to give details about how a student was placed at Poolesville after being removed from his previous program. We've also seen what appear to be two elementary school principals that are going straight to parents to discuss funding cuts.

Are administrators going to start coming clean about what's going on?

Dish that gossip girl!!

It seems like the type of dirt that posters like moderatelymoco specialize in. They have an agenda.

+1 can’t stand that blog.

You do realize that discussing funding cuts is not outlawed or against any regulations? The budget is public knowledge.

Sounds like you have 1 actual example and 2 gossip pieces? What elementary schools? One letter is not a trend, you're stretching.

I feel for principals. As you said, CO sets them up to take the fall for a lot of crap that trickles down to them.

Principals are also being tasked with things they are woefully unequipped to handle, such as safety/security, finances, mental health, etc. There is way too much on their plate and there needs to be a real rethink about what a principal SHOULD be doing and what an effective principal looks like.
