When I get the reward, I put a little star sticker next to it on the paper. Striving to get the rewards is motivating, and looking at all the stars is as well.
The rewards are things I can afford but would hesitate to get myself. Little things, like the hazelnut bark at that new choc place at Tysons or some face masks at Sephora, up to medium things like a blowout or a new pair of Sambas, up to big things like a new wardrobe or trip or Apple watch.
Works well for me.

I did a Dry January and surprised myself by keeping it going day-by-day. I have a solid 30 to lose and only lost 3 in the whole month of January. It was depressing, though I felt better. In the 19 days of February, I lost 6 already. I think it is that I spent January focused on not drinking. Now that I am confident in that I am focused on eating better and moving better. It is working!
I only have 10 I want to lose and I was already working out a lot and my diet wasn’t terrible. I really thought there would be a loss with no alcohol. Even 2lbs. But I’m stuck at the same weight.

The less you have to lose the harder it is. Anything under 10 is essentially vanity weight and your body will fight to keep it. Things why even people who lose 50,100 lbs lose a lot at first and then start to slow down and struggle to maintain the same progress of loss. It would no joke be easier for someone obese to lose 25 lbs than for someone lean to lose 5.
I'm also trying to lose about 10 lbs to feel more comfortable in my clothes and also really to get healthier as my lipid numbers slowly get worse. After about 7-8 weeks of exercising regularly and IF (the IF really more of a mechanism to cut out late night eating and to reduce snacking), I am finally starting to see weight loss. For the first 3 weeks I was gaining weight from building muscle, then staying steady, then losing about 1 lb a week. The last week or two, I've been losing about 1.5-2 lbs a week. More importantly, I am eating better, snacking much less and moving a lot more. The challenge is keep this up long term. I can do it for a few months and then go back to all my bad habits and gain the weight back. Each time, it takes longer and longer to lose. For reference, I am mid 50s and recently went into menopause.
