if your kid is not playing tennis on an international level, they are not playing tennis at an Ivy or really any other school you’d recognize in Div1. Why do people on this board think that tennis is a sport that will be able to do at a top (or even mid) college? It has been discussed as nauseum. Go look at the rosters of the athletes at the schools in question. Does your kid compare? If so then I assume coaches have already expressed interest.

Depends on the sport. DS had some introductions by his coach and some he reached out to directly. They replied by asking him to fill out an athletic recruitment form then some engaged in email and invitations. But his is not a mainstream sport like soccer or football.

Just like any other school. My dd plays soccer, but i imagine it's the same for most sports. By sophomore year, she should have had at least 1-2 years of emailing coaches to attend her events by this point. The coaches/club should be navigating this. Teams put together brochures with stats, etc. Then dd should email coaches to ask them to attend showcases/tournaments. Our team kept track of all coaches in attendance. Thank them for attending, include clips of her videos/recruiting website. Go to their clinics.

Smart athletes with hooks and preferably guidance counselors and coaches that the school trusts to find the best fits.

Attend showcases where they will be in attendance. Baseball regularly has these where dozens and dozens of coaches attend. Athletic camps. Send short video clips to schools.

Unfortunately, the answer usually given here is "if you gotta ask...".

There are many websites and books out there that can help you with this info, and if you are serious, consultants who can help.

Wanted to add her dream schools right now are Cornell, Columbia, Yale, and possibly Harvard.

Just curious. Haven't heard of any recruits from sophomore DD's very sports and academically focused high school. Are they looking for smart athletes? How competitive are their field hockey, track, and tennis teams (for my DD specifically)
