People are so fixated on "not needing a third row." We don't often use the third row for passengers either, but how do you take four people on a vacation with only the cargo space in an RDX/CRV? We need to fold the third row to have the cargo space we need and still be able to see out the back and sides comfortably.

Because the Acura RDX IS a Honda CR-V.

Same vehicle. Cosmetic differences and trim levels aside, it’s the exact same car.

I had four MDXs over a 12 year period when I was driving kids around all the time. When my last one started driving and my carpooling stopped, I didn't need the third row anymore so I was going to downsize to the RDX. It was the Acura salesman who told me the Honda CRV was pratically the same care as the RDX, for a lot less money. I ended up with a CRV and loved it. So I'd recommend taking a look and test drive a CRV as well.

Exactly why we didn't pursue an RDX. The price seems comparable with other competition until you drive it. So, you upgrade to A-Spec and all the bells and whistles . . . but the cost is no longer comparable.

Test drove one this weekend. I was a bit disappointed how soft the steering felt and the automatic transmission had enough initial lag where I would have concerns merging and passing. Mid-range speeds seem fine. Rear seating seemed fine and actually pretty big for it's class and competition. The car seemed to sit higher up than I would have liked.

I priced our a 2024 A-Spec Advanced package and OTD cost was almost $60K. At that price, you have a lot more competition and I need to research them.

Backseat is small. Is anyone in your family tall? My husband is 6'3" and we have to test every potential car with him in the driver seat and me or one of our teens sitting behind him. It rules out most cars, including the RDX. People don't understand what a challenge this is.

We have had ours for 11 years.

In year 3 we had an electrical issue that took about 6 months to get resolved- and no loaner car.

Other than that it is fine. Fun to drive, terrible gas mileage and not for long trips/luggage and pet.

Ours has about 65k miles in it now and other than that electronics issue been solid.

I have an older one and absolutely love it. I too don’t need the third row, and the gas savings is worth it to stay in the rdx vs mdx.

I want to buy a new one, and am also looking at the A spec.

The only thing I don’t like is it uses premium gas, which is hard for my cheap-a$$.

Do you like your RDX? We don’t need the third row of the MDX. DH and I like how it drives, but not sure about the “leatherette” seats. How do they feel on hot, humid days? Has the RDX been a reliable car for you?
