Why fhe hell would you leave California to third tier toilet schools in the south east?

You have options in AZ as well

To me it's super bizarre to fly across the country to go to a school like ECU or Coastal Carolina when she could go to a state school in CA for less. And still have warm weather. And fit in better.

She doesn't want a school that revolves around sororities and frats? Why then would she go to any of these schools?

Op, ignore PP. East Carolina kids are down to earth, kind of a party school. Most of these schools have diverse student bodies with varying interests.

The only one that's remotely hoity-toity is College of Charleston, IMO.

I have been to every school on the list.

Please ignore any poster who uses the phrase "hoity-toity" as clearly this poster is unfamiliar with these Southern schools unless referring to Ole Miss--a school at which your daughter would probably be very uncomfortable.

Consider University of New Mexico or New Mexico State University.

CA mom here. We toured a few of these schools. UNC Wilmington felt very much like a commuter school. We were there in a Friday afternoon and there was a stream of cars leaving campus.

USC was a decent large university. My child took it off the list after getting a major racist vibe (we are white). They also did not like how everything seemed to revolve around athletics and Greek life.

ECU has a way out ina rural area. DC was unimpressed.
