I don't think that you would necessarily owe her alimony for life. Five to ten years, perhaps. Bro, you need to consult a lawyer.

We decided to go to mediation and agreed not to engage attorneys before we did. I think we are doing a 50/50 split but I make more than my spouse. They are part time and change from PT at various percentages to FT depending on how much flexibility they want. If they went full time, I would no likely owe alimony based on the calculator. But if they use their part time salary, I would potentially owe them money for life.

What is used? What the person makes on a part time salary or if the person can work up to full time (older children and no restrictions with work saying no) then the full time salary?
