I’m not sure I understand the argument that yield protection tied to acceptance rate. Just look at naviance scattergrams, it will be obvious if it exists.

I still don’t buy that there’s yield protection. It’s a great option for lots of kids though, including mine.

As long as you know what it isn’t (not selective), it’s fine. They are doing lots of good works (fellow programs is an example), but it will take a generation to be more selective/perhaps even prestigious.

Will it compete with Wake Forest or Duke next 30 years? Or will it compete with UNC-G or VCU?

We toured and I was impressed and my kid was accepted. He turned it down because its really in the middle of no where and he wanted a school closer to a city. But the school itself is great and I agree it's a good size - not too small or too big.

A friend’s daughter is there and very happy. I think Elon has a lot going for it and is a great option!

Demonstrated interest matters to Elon. We want to the thing at the Fairview Park Marriott a couple of weeks ago. Maybe there’s another opportunity coming up.

We took our kid to visit (there were a ton of out of state kids on the tour). I was very impressed. Campus is gorgeous, students seemed very happy and friendly. The school seems to have a lot of financial resources and professors seemed to like the kids. I would be totally happy for my kid to go there (biggest drawback is it’s in the middle of nowhere).

DC--great grades, 1490 SAT but may take it one more time-- is looking for a "safety" (or whatever we're supposed to call it these days) ....doesn't want anything "too small" but is also nervous about getting lost at a large public.

Elon seems like it is in that rare sweet spot in terms of size (4000-8000) and has a focus on undergraduate teaching. I know nothing about it but would love feedback from parents with firsthand knowledge....
