Question to those who have glass doors - how much cleaning/maintenance is needed? Will I need to squeegee the glass after every shower? I cannot picture my teens doing this.

They don't NEED to, no. But the glass won't look nice if they won't.

Get some kind of unbreakable glass. Years ago I had a friend whose husband bled to death, alone, after falling through a glass shower door. (He was very young too) 😟

Luxuriating in a hot bath and sliding the doors fully shut really makes you feel like you're in your own private spa sanctuary. Freeing yourself from a wet, slimy curtain accidentally clinging to your body as you step out of the shower. Much easier to clean. A crisper look to the bathroom. There's nothing better!

All good points, thanks from OP!

And thanks to all!

These are good considerations! Thank you from OP.

Op here and I am hoping to get a quote this week so will report back!

This is a pretty traditionally styled bathroom (1940s, white, penny tile) so I don’t want anything but plain glass, although I’d consider frosted for privacy reasons.

I want to go this to make the small bathroom feel larger and more light filled. Still am bit sure how it would feel visibly showering behind a glass door vs an opaque curtain.

You can get a frosted door with a design etched on it if you like.

My teen had a bath tub with a shower curtain, and he seemed incapable of showering without splashing water on the floor. We got a glass door installed, and it solved the problem.

Not to take off point but does anyone have a rec for a glass tub/shower sliding door that will work with a classic style not industrial style bathroom? Thanks.

we have frosted glass doors. privacy isn't an issue. we wipe them down when we clean the shower. (ok, we pay someone to do that.)

clear glass doors are much harder to keep clean looking.

We only have shower/bath curtains in our house, in both the primary bathroom (stall shower) and the shared hall bathroom (tub/shower combo). Our kids are now past the bathing stage and I'm thinking of having glass door installed in lieu of the curtain in the tub/shower combo. If you have glass doors, what are the pros and cons, in your opinion?

One concern I have is .. privacy. I realize that usually one showers alone, but my kids do sometimes barge in on one another. Also, would it feel "exposed" to shower behind glass?
