Accounting classes seem to be the toughest hurdle for business majors. If kid could knock out the intro-level accounting classes at a community college, that would seem to be really helpful.

FWIW your child can sign up for intro courses at your local community college, or, if local to DMV, can apply to GmU as a “non degree student” and take college level courses. At my kid’s private, he had to get authorization from an advisor to take college courses but that shouldn’t be an issue. In his case he took chemistry to enrich his junior year background I. It. Business professor here. Business is a broad occupation, not a narrow scholarly field. Before taking business electives, you need math, statistics, economics, and accounting.

So some schools add an unnecessary course "Introduction to Business". The instructor told me "They don't know anything!" Freshmen don't know stocks and bonds, accounting stock versus flow, board of directors, right to work laws, anti-trust laws, central banking, taxes, etc.

Get a job paying minimum wage. Do research on how to invest those earnings to make maximum profits.

Hi, any ideas for a incoming Fall 24 freshman who wants to get an introduction to Business this coming summer? Most probably majoring in CS or math. Found a 3 week summer course offered by Cornell in NYC but turns out only college sophomores can enroll. Any other ideas? Thanks.
