Linear Polyethylene (what plastic yard sheds are made of) is readily recyclable.

Wood sheds are really expensive unless you build it yourself, and even then, material cost is still significant.

I could get a smaller plastic shed from Home Depot, but I'm trying to avoid buying non-biodegradable things, I don't want to add plastic to the world's landfills. I looked at DIY cedar sheds you can buy online but those are also $2000+ once you factor in the pad it'll sit on and the handyman cost to assemble. Is there any option I have overlooked? Where do you all store your lawn mowers (if not in the garage?) Thanks!

We store ours outside year round with a waterproof lawnmower cover. We also looked into something like this:

Thanks. The issue isn't that there's no space. I don't want the organic-y stuff in the garage. The lawnmower smells musty and I want to keep the space dry and mostly empty so we can put gym equipment in there.

Then you have too much stuff in your house. A garage is not a gym if you have to put garage items out of the garage.

Most houses do not come with gyms, or room for gyms.

If you don't have a shed recommendation, then move on.

Wood sheds and building a pad is more than $2000 by a lot. There is a reason plastic is cheap. They factory make it using injection molding.

If you can’t put it in your garage, you have too much crap.

HD has non-plastic sheds

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Handy-Home-Products-Monarch-Do-it-Yourself-10-ft-x-8-ft-Outdoor-Gable-style-Wood-Storage-Shed-with-Smartside-siding-80-sq-ft-18380-5/309310904

Every shed is going to be at least $1500. That's just the price of things. Check Facebook market place to see if your neighbors are selling or getting rid of one.
