We’ve gotten our re-enrollment paperwork from our current school, asking us to commit to tuition by 6/1 and pay a $1k deposit now to hold our seat. This seems very common and standard among DC privates.
If we get in somewhere else, that seems straightforward: we tell our current school we’re leaving, pay tuition at the new school, and lose the $1k deposit. Understood.
If we get WLed and there’s no WL movement for us before 6/1, what’s the likelihood of any movement after 6/1? I had forgotten that we are committing NOW to our current school HOW we are paying tuition— ie, all up front, payment plan, etc. And also the tuition insurance plan. Should we sign up for that so we’re covered if our kid gets in off the waitlist after 6/1 so we could request reimbursement of tuition?
Very little wait movement after 6/1. Insurance only covers certain things I think or everyone else would be doing it.
