Well, I will ask.
NJ, unlike Maryland and DC, eliminated its estate tax six or so years ago. It does have an inheritance tax, put it doesn't apply to those directly in your family line (parent, child, etc.).

I am asking for estate tax purposes. Assume a beneficiary is identified, which I understand will avoid probate. I also understand that the withdrawals will lot be taxed.
But will it be part of the estate? I assume yes, but I have found different answers online.
