Ours is a neutered version with no decorations or food. Only card exchange. I’m not sure if people are allowed to laugh or talk during this “party.”

That sounds like a celebration.

+ 1. Minus the junk food. It is a win/win.

Ours does, opens up the school for parents to come at their grades assigned times (an hour long slot). Kids bring cards for the exchange and parents donate treats/snacks. The teacher usually plans some activities as the school does not do room leaders.

Oakland Terrace does them. Parents donate snacks, treats, decorations, and activities with a few volunteers doing set up / break down.

Sounds like your kid’s school does celebrate. Aren’t card exchanges the main part of classroom Valentine celebrations?

Each grade has a celebration at our school- Viers Mill. Kids can bring in cards, but they don’t have to. Two kids- and different celebration times for each. 5th grade is in the morning and 3rd in the afternoon.

So they do allow card exchanges? What are you complaining about? Do you not have other social circles to celebrate in if you want?
