ED2 is such a shady tactic.
My DC got these letters from Umiami BC and a few others. I am pretty sure that every school with an ED2 option plays the game.

+1 Honestly, I counted at least ten different disingenuous threads leading directly to NEU in one week alone, for each of the past two weeks. If only someone would take control of the situation, so that parents can concentrate on actual questions, instead of trolls taking over and taking away from the site. So glad to see others are noticing this.
Hi. I was the parent (not a troll) who guessed NEU might be doing this. I have no grudge. My kid is actually currently in the RD pool; I encouraged them to apply! But I also have watched (admiringly) as NEU has totally figured out how to game the college rankings/admission system.
Don't hate the player, hate the game. And don't hate the messenger ๐

Definately! They are typically NOT sending it to every EA/RD applicant. They have read your kid's application and think they might be a good candidate, but dont' want to offer them a spot if they are not going to take it.

Yes I donโt believe they send that letter to everyone. Itโs the kids the like but they arenโt sure whether they will enroll. If you switch you are in. If you donโt youโre getting waitlisted or rejected.
