What an absolutely bizarre filter and perspective.

The Atlantic is top-tier, professional, long-form journalism. It's just not going to give they type of day-to-day information perhaps OP is looking for.

Whining about it being "left" just means you don't like that it doesn't parrot some weird right-wing world view to you. It doesn't make it not credible.

With few exceptions -- Reason magazine, for example -- right-wing media largely IS not credible because it doesn't typically follow basic tenets of journalism like requiring multiple sources for information and others as outlined by the Society for Professional Journalists. So it's fair to be dismissive of ideological conservative pubs.

The Week is okay but it’s not very substantive- it’s like Newsweek.

Atlantic or the The New Yorker would be my picks. If you’re a busy person you might have a harder time keeping up with The New Yorker since it’s a weekly.

I’ve never heard of The Week.

I like getting the New Yorker. I don’t always get to it, but when I do I usually find something I want to read. My next choice would be the Atlantic.

The New Yorker would be perfect for you. Interesting articles especially since you were a literature major. Really good and well written articles that are not depressing but intellectually stimulating.
