But the top on this dress looks like it would have to be taken in to be flattering. It’s very boxy. I also hate tuckernuck, it’s all high waisted or too short o both, and the vibe is wannabe preppy and too antiseptic, less woman and more little girl.

For you have to overthink it, you probably won’t have enough confidence to pull it off. So just lean into the campiness. What’s wrong with being campy for a day? I’d wear penny loafers and cat eye glasses with my hair teased as high as I can manage.

Not my style at all, but if I wanted to update it, I'd wear it for winter with opaque black tights and a pair of block heel black pumps. Add a cropped black wool coat and it's a cute outfit for church or a dressy brunch or a baby shower, assuming this falls within your style wheelhouse, which for me it does not.

It's tough because the bows make it inappropriate for work, but if you take the bows away, it reads as aging and boring. Kind of hard line to walk.

Dang you are right- it's the bows that send this into campy territory. If I found it on clearance I would buy it and cut off the bows but clearly it's a pretty popular dress as it is almost sold out!

I've never bought anything from Tuckernuck but the other vintage inspired dresses on their website seem more feasible.
