Hi OP- curious how things played out for you and what you'd recommend? I'm in the 1st trimester with twins and I'd love to find a doc who is adept at making vaginal delivery possible

Dr. Steven Ralston is my MFM at GW. He's been very impressively detail oriented.

For what it’s worth, I work at WHC and I chose to deliver at VHC. My baby was breech until 36 weeks and it never ever crossed my mind to deliver at WHC.

I have KP and if I had to choose based on comfort and care I would go with VHC

I’d agree with the GW recommendation for the breech deliveries

I have Kaiser so limited on where to deliver. The MFM was just giving her opinion knowing that if possible, I'd like to have another vaginal delivery, which I appreciate.

I opted for a cesarean but went through the whole process. I felt well cared for and well informed.

I delivered at WHC (midwives and with Kaiser) and was pretty happy with everything there except the postpartum nurses were not helpful and even aggressive with breastfeeding (for my first). With my 2nd i was more confident and din't listen to them! This was about 7 years ago now!

OP, they are about the same distance from me and yes I do understand that there is a possibility that a physician may not be on duty who feels comfortable delivering and I'm prepared for whatever.

I'm a creature of habit so I just wanted to know others experiences at different hospitals.

There are quite a few OBGYNs at WHC that are comfortable delivering a breech twin, provided the breech twin is Twin B, NOT Twin A. When I delivered twins there in 2021, I was told that there’s no guarantee one of them will be working when you deliver.

DP but the move to deliver all breech babies by C-sections is somewhat controversial. These days a complicating factor is the reality that few OBs are even trained to deliver a breech baby. There are however a few who specialize in this.

I’m not sure I understand the question. Will your MFM deliver the babies? Who will be delivering them? I’d pick the doctor/practice more than the hospital.

I would just go with the one that’s closer, seriously.

That said I had a good experience at WHC. The postpartum rooms are not luxe but it’s reassuring to know they can handle anything.

I am currently pregnant with twins and due in April. I've had 3 deliveries at Holy Cross because one baby is breech and in the event the baby doesn't flip, my MFM recommended I deliver elsewhere: either Washington Hospital Center or Virginia Hospital Center. Apparently, they have physicians who feel comfortable still attempting to deliver the babies vaginally. Can anyone share their experience at either one?
