Yes, I buy there, it saves a lot of money over buying new, also good for repairs or replacement parts.

I sell a little bit, but only things from my home that I no longer want or need. (I don't buy anything to sell). It's a good way to rehome odd, specific items, like the appliance parts or partial china sets mentioned above. I wouldn't say I make that much money, I do it instead of having a garage sale.

One recent purchase was a baggy of 10 little special screws for the door of my Bosch dishwasher. Yes, somebody thought to list door screws for a 20 year old dishwasher and somebody (me) bought them for $5. Is it a meaningful way to make money? I'm not sure.

I sold my Dyson hairdryer for close to what I bought it for on eBay recently, and was shocked at how much higher the seller fees were than what they used to be!

I buy odd things like jewelry repair kits, watch bands, second hand books etc. I don't sell.

I’ve purchased things occasionally: bags and shoes that are no longer available in stores, occasional NWT clothing, books that aren’t yet published in the US. So I’m not making any money— because I’m not selling anything, but I’ve saved a lot. A recent purchase was a NWT jacket that I got for less than half the price that it was still selling for online and in stores.

Yes. Over 40 years ago, my husband's grandma started a yearly Christmas tradition of buying him a Hallmark Frosty Friends ornament. There were a couple of early 1980s pieces that were missing from his collection but I was able to find them on eBay. American Girl stuff is also popular to buy and sell. My daughter no longer plays with her American Girl stuff so we will likely auction it off on eBay at some point. Collectors are willing to pay!

I've also used eBay to sell some outgrown kids' clothing. Brands like Hanna Andersson, Tea Collection, Boden, Lilly Pulitzer, and the like are always sought after. You can get new or barely worn things for a lot less than retail, and when it's time to sell them, you can get a lot more than you would at a garage sale or consignment store.
