You asked about restaurants - I found that appetizer portions were better for me. I try to split an appetizer with DH and then have an appetizer rather than an entree.

If you feel nauseous, did you feel nauseous on the low, starting doses?

I eat sort of terribly because everything sucks and I have nausea. So whatever I can stomach, but not much.

The first few months, I ate whatever I could tolerate which was most healthy foods.

Now a year in I eat pretty normally. I have to try a lot harder to keep eating clean but it’s still easier than before.

I guess my question is more around volume. How much are you eating in any particular meal? Are your portions super tiny?

For example, for your breakfast do you just have 1-2 eggs? Anything else?

I'm the PP who said 90 grams. I might have 1-2 eggs plus a slice of whole grain toast, but I don't make the toast if I'm not hungry after I eat the egg. Usually I do want some carbs to keep my stomach happy. If I have 1/2 cup (uncooked) oatmeal with butter and nuts, I usually don't want anything else for a long while, that stuff is filling.
At dinner I have a 3 oz or so piece of chicken, which is a serving, along with a large salad: I wouldn't say that's super tiny but it's way less chicken than I used to eat.
I've been on 1.7 of Wegovy for about 5 months: I don't feel a need to step up to the next dose, but also not totally appetite supressed or unable to eat.

So you end up skipping lunch?

When you started at a lower dose were you eating more?

I eat salads and proteins, less carbs. More fiber. But I eat smaller portions and snack less because my appetite and cravings are a lot less.

Initially I ate about half of what I ate before. Definitely can’t eat 2 eggs for breakfast.

You really can’t plan. Stop eating when you are full, which will come much sooner than you are used to. Take small portions. Eat protein at every meal. You may also find you have an aversion to some foods - hard to know what those will be.

Are you working with a dietician? I've found it helpful.

I aim for 3 meals + 2 snacks, at least 90 grams of protein a day. Typical foods are eggs, protein-added oatmeal with butter and nuts or seeds, chicken breast with salad, tofu with brown rice, carrots and string cheese, celery with nut butter, protein bar or shake as needed. Small dessert after dinner, typically dark chocolate.

Dining out, I try to avoid fried or oily things as it upsets my stomach on these meds. Otherwise, I get what I want and just really listen to my body: if I have to take a deep breath between bites, I'm full.

What are you eating if you are using one of these drugs to suppress your appetite?

Typical day?
At a restaurant?

How many calories/protein/carbs per day typically?

Trying to do some meal planning but not sure how much I will be able to eat.
