Years ago, I used a restoration guy who worked with Modern Mobler and he did a great job. You could check with them if they still have the association.

I second that . They do everything with upholstery and also woodwork that includes Refinishing , repairs , Recaning etc .
They do Free estimates and do pick up and delivery

I've used Raymond Burkett and he's great. He used to repair furniture for the Smithsonian, if you have antiques, but he does vintage furniture too.

Subject: Renovation/repair vintage furniture
I have three pieces that need some work -- none of them are really expensive pieces, just solid family hand-me downs that I'd prefer not to junk. I'd love someone who would come pick them up, repair the easy repair on-site, and take the others off to fix them. It is:
-- a mid-century mahagony table where a few of the wooden peg connectors broke, meaning that the leg attachment came apart
-- a 1930s era table (maybe walnut?) that need refinishing and some work where the iron undercarriage came loose
-- a mid-19th century end table that needs refinishing and a reattachment of a piece that came apart
I'm in the Bethesda area. Any recommendations? Thank you!
