the flexstyle, i got it at target with all the attachments. i dry my roots and then the lengths until they are damp, then use the curling wands. something about the curling wands eliminates frizz and makes my hair shiny without overly drying it out. get it from costco and then you can return it if you don't like it.

I’m early 50s, and my new-ish hairstylist talked me into stepping away from the hair dye about 6-8 months ago. She promised my natural color would look better. I’ve been dye-free ever since and trying to make peace with the grays. (She was right about the color, even if I still find it a little boring.)

Frizz-wise, I would say my hair is about 30% less frizzy after I stopped dying it. Still more frizzy than when I was younger, but better than with the dye. I don’t condition or use many hair products because my hair’s too thin and fine and instantly goes oily and limp. At least frizz is a tiny bit of body! But anyway, that’s my own experience for what it’s worth.

I’m only 30s but I had this problem. It was causing a lot of insecurity. I researched it and tried to figure out the cause for 4 years. Last fall it got so much better. I stopped bleaching/coloring my hair, switched my pillow case to silk and maybe it was part my ultra moisturizing shampoo. I’m nervous about doing my hair again but I was only doing it twice a year (haven’t done it in a year)

Frizz=Dry. You need some moisture mask treatments and a hair oil, plus I would look into a smoothing serum treatment. There are treatments you can use that will last up to 3 washes, but most require blow drying to make them work. Maybe invest in a blow dry/styling system like the dyson air wrap too.

OP you need to put a bond builder in once a week at least after you shampoo. That should drastically improve things.

I should add that it wasn't frizzy when I was a teen, so maybe there's a happy medium between normal hair and super friz that I can aim for.

I'm sure age makes it worse, I am past menopause, but it's always been frizzy. I'm an expert with an air dryer and round brush, so it looks good when I style it. When I let it air dry, it's scary, probably from highlights and hair dryer. Just wondering if anyone has noticed a difference when if they stopped highlighting. I'm trying to see if it's worth trying it.

Not OP, but 53, postmenopausal, and living with hair that is very frizzy and highlighted. It was highlighted and not remotely frizzy until peri.

I have gotten blond highlights since I was 16, and am now 50. If you stopped highlighting and let your natural hair grow back in, did you notice your hair being healthier/less frizzy?
