I have a two-slot Hobart (commercial model). It is also known as the "Polytron." It works great (and was made in the US), but is no longer available, as far as I know.

Agreed with OP that most toasters are awful. You have to find an old one, buy a commercial model, or live with cheap plastic junk until it dies and needs to be replaced.

I have a toaster oven and love it. It's older so the exact model is no longer sold, but it's an Oster. Yes, it's huge on the counter but we use it almost daily and rarely use the big oven anymore.

That's where I got mine as well. Currently not a fan. The lever mechanism seems flimsy, and sometimes has a hard time engaging. Hopefully both of ours will last a while.

I have an old Kitchenaid toaster I bought for $5 at a Black Friday sale in 1999. It's still going strong. No need to replace it, and I certainly don't want to replace it with a big, clunky, counter space waster.

Op here. Got a cuisinart at Costco yesterday for $30. Toasted a bagel and frozen waffle nicely this morning. I am too overwhelmed by these more complicated ovens/air fryers. Let’s hope it lasts a while!

No but the nice toaster ovens do a whole lot more than toast bread. I've got a convection toaster oven and it's a toaster, air fryer, and all-purpose-reheater that takes a fraction of the time to heat up as my oven does.

I have a Hamilton Beach toastation. Combo toaster and toaster oven. The toaster oven part is really small and we rarely use it, although DH uses it to heat up hash brown patties. The toaster part of it works great. It is consistent every time. The slots are wide enough to handle bagels. We have had it more than 5 years and less than 10 years.
I am in my 60's and before this toaster, I hated every other toaster I owned. They would undertoast or overtoast on the same settings. Or bagels would get stuck.

Of course the exact same model that we have no longer exists.
The only negative is that it takes twice as long as other toasters to toast the bread.

My new Cuisinart 2-slice toaster is very flaky -- over half the time it doesn't stay down when I press the lever. I would not recommend it.

I had two Cuisinart toasters because my local l hardware store sells them and it was convenient. Both broke pretty quickly. I won't buy another. I bought a KitchenAid. It''s only a two-slot and I like the size of it and I like the red color. I've had it for about two years and it has been fine.

We love our Cuisinart 4-slice toaster. We use it daily in out family of 5 and it works great!

OK this is where DCUM freaks me out.

I just made my lunch in anticipation of a little DCUM trolling over a nice sandwich, but my toaster burnt the bread to a cinder. I said out loud, "I hate this F-ing toaster!"

Has anyone else found that DCUM echoes what is happening in your life, like right now?

To answer your question, OP. No, I do not. At all.

The Breville is great for a toaster oven... but not sure if toaster oven is what you are looking for.

Ours is dying. Would love a rec as I feel like most are garbage. Please include links!
