So how are you treating your paranoia, OP?
This has been going on for quite some time now.

This. There are usually other signs.

My MIL asks my kids things then asks me the same pretending she doesn’t know the answer already. If our answers dont match 100% (eg kids got details wrong) she accuses us in a very passive aggressive way of lying. That generation is just… stunted.

My first thought too!!

I recall a lengthy discussion about what IT skills would be needed to implement such bugs then everyone weighed in on how superior their 77 your old parents skills were that they could pull this off easily.

If you are the type to complain that visiting your MIL to drop something off is a time suck, I am sure that she is well aware that you don't like her and intuits that you would think seeing her is a waste of weekend time and could mention this to guilt DH without having bugged you.

This.

This is going to sound insane so please don’t come at me! I think MIL has somehow bugged our house.

Yesterday evening I happened upon event advertised on Facebook that was in DH and DS shared wheelhouse. I mentioned it to DH and we decided we’d go today. We had existing plans to drop something off at MIL house tomorrow, and it’s out of the way. I casually complained that I wish we didn’t have to go to MIL tomorrow since it would be a time suck.

Fast forward to this morning, DH calls MIL to confirm the time we’d be there. He says NOTHING about our plans. It’s a cheerful, upbeat conversation. She agrees on the time and we go on with our day.

Just now she calls and he has it on speaker since we are getting ready, and she says don’t come, she would hate to upset anyone in our house about coming and ruining Saturday.

What? What just happened? Coincidence? A strange one, if so.
