same, my 1944 & 1950 parents are like that for me 1979 and my sibling 1982. they listen, are sounding boards and give great advice. My friends now mid 40s call them for advice or ideas too! And sadly as the 80s approach more funerals of my parents friends and my friends parents.

Their definitions are too broad. There is a huge difference between providing advice to an 18 y.o. and providing financial support to a 34 y.o.

There is also a difference between the interdependence in multigenerational households and the situation where all the support only flows one way. Let’s see how it works out in another 10-15 years, whether the perpetual takers will turn into givers.

Gen X is 1965-1980. The oldest Gen Xers are turning 60 this year. So, yes, 18-34YOs can and many do have Gen X Parents. We are Gen X, had kids late, and our oldest is 20. My siblings are Gen x and had kids young and their oldest kids are 30.
