I heard bus so I say "no."
But that's just me.

If you think it would be fun, then go.

Don't overthink this and look for reasons to be offended.

If you want to go, go. If not, don't.
It's simple. Life is too busy and short to overanalyze things.

Lawd, people are petty. Don't let a late invitation stand in the way of having a good time. I'd absolutely go, but I love a good party.

She may be, but there’s no way she booked that two days beforehand. That’s insane.

Why not? It’s a bus.

I hate when people feign stupidity just to make the OP look crazy.

Nobody is ordering and hoping to fill a party bus with less than 48 hours before it leaves. That’s absolutely insane. People would perhaps need babysitters, attire, etc. Even if this person had unlimited income and didn’t care if she wasted upwards of $1000, what are the chances this transportation company just happens to have availability less than 48 hours out? Probably slim. I can say this with confidence because I used to work in the party planning industry in college.

It’s much more likely that someone cancelled on a long standing invite and OP was called to fill in.

If you want to go, go. It doesn't sound like she's a super-close friend, and you're not surprised to find yourself on the B-list. I don't think it's weird at all.

This would not bother me at all. And the reality is that lots of things might have happened. She could be late doing this. She could have meant to invite you but left you off the first group text. She really wanted to include you all along but didn’t have room, etc.

If yes, then go.

If no, then don’t.

Parties sometimes have B lists. There is nothing wrong with that and there is nothing wrong with being on one.

Yes exactly. There are clearly space limitations and she can’t invite everyone. You are invited now, either go or don’t.

Same. It would feel weird.

I have a colleague who is also a friend. She is celebrating a milestone birthday this week. I was long ago invited to her birthday dinner tonight, which she arranged. I was surprised to receive a text from her late last night inviting me on a “bus tour” tomorrow night (Saturday). It’s a party bus of sorts that will pick us up and take us around to different places that correlate with the theme of the evening. It’s definitely something that was planned weeks in advance and not on a whim yesterday. I’m clearly a B-list seat filler who didn’t make the initial cut and wouldn’t have been invited if someone hadn’t cancelled.

Would you attend, or is that as desperate as it seems?
