If you can afford it, use Zepbound. It is more effective than Wegovy (study just published). These drugs work until they don't -- so you want the best one to start with and get the most out of it. I have used both over a three year period and I am still on one.

Pretty sure OP has figured this out by now -- the OP was in Feb.

Op, contact your insurance and discuss with them the fact that Wegovy starter doses are out of stock and ask if they’ll allow you to start on Zepbound due to this issue.

I am a fed with BCBS Basic. If Wegovy were available, it would cost me $60. It looks like Zepbound would be about $500. I have PA for Wegovy, but my pharmacist told me she heard it will be June before she gets it in stock. I do have co-morbidities.
If it will really be four more months, I might consider Zepbound if it is more widely available. But I don’t know if it actually is more widely available.

Obesity only, no (current) comorbities. Meet BMI and other criteria for FEPBLUE coverage of Wegovy. Cannot locate started doses anywhere in DC region. Not interested in compound.
FEPBLUE appears to only cover Zepbound if you’ve tried Wegovy (???).
Zepbound appears $ but much less so than Wegovy. It also *seems* available (is this wrong?). Can afford Zepbound. Should I just ask PC physician for Zepbound Rx? Don’t want to wait for Wegovy for six months, or whatever.
