I tried kiziks and the back kept folding so I still needed to bend over to put them on. I returned them.

I have terrible old lady feet at 51 so I'll weigh in. I buy dozens of shoes every year in the hope of finding 1-2 that I can actually wear.

I don't think the lock laces will solve the problem if the issue is bending over well to get the shoe on. My mom in her 90s wears almost exclusively Clark's backless slip on shoes because of this issue.

The cheap Skechers slip ons with memory foam is more comfortable, IME, then most of the fancy expensive sneakers. I tried Cariuma and Allbirds, for instance, and found them awfully uncomfortable. I do like Ryka and Taos sometimes, but their sneakers didn't work for me.

I also recently discovered this store, which advertises exactly what you want. I ordered some insulated short boots for walking in the winter from them, and they are actually really comfortable, so I may get some sneakers from them as well.

Why not get her some Lock Laces? They're used by triathletes who need to quickly get their running shoes off/on.

I was introduced to them by the OT working with my DS who has fine motor challenges. He can tie laces but not tightly enough. He's now in HS and has used them for at least 10 years. I use them, too as does my 80 yo mother. They're GREAT.

You can find them or something similar in just about any store that sells running shoes.

Oofos has really comfortable and supportive shoes, and I see several slip-on styles in their site - I haven't tried those specific shoes, but highly recommend the brand in general. I have a pair of regular lace-up shoes, flip flops, and booties, love them all.

Get her a long-handled shoe horn to go with them. Made a world of difference for my mom as she was recovering from hip surgery and had trouble bending over.

These are slip-on. Similar to allbirds, but with more support. I recommended them to my mom.

Senior mom has difficulty bending over to put on shoes so slip ons are a must. She walks a lot (trails, neighborhood, around lakes, mall walking) - does anyone have a recommendation for really nice, supportive slip on walking shoes? I’m birthday shopping. Thanks!
