A few years ago we were emailed by an admissions director about 4 weeks prior to decision day saying something to the effect of "just checking in to see how you're doing, what your thoughts are and if you have any further questions."
I posted on there about it and had no idea what to think. The kid was accepted. This was a Big3 for high school.

We got a letter from the admissions director enclosed with the standardized test results and among other things the note said "I look forward to seeing you in the near future". We took that as an indication of a likely acceptance. This is our DC's first choice school and we already conveyed that message in earlier communications so they know we will enroll if offered admittance.

First time applying to schools this year (for HS) and several schools my kid was interested in invited her and seemingly all who'd attended an open house, interview, or tour to attend theatrical performances or other events. That was before applications were due and I assumed they were part of the schools' "marketing" and to give kids and families more of a chance to experience the school culture, not at all related to likelihood of admission.

Not really. If applying to high school from a current private, I know the schools talk to each other. I assume current schools may get a sense for who is getting in where, but they stay tight-lipped and don’t really let on.

Depending on the school, you might get a phone call earlier that day. But no hints earlier.

This is our first time applying to private schools. I know that the official notification time is March 1 at 4 pm. Just wondering if any schools give unofficial hints of acceptance before then. That definitely happened when I applied to college, but obviously that was a different situation and time.
