Once a child is marked eligible, they keep that designation through 8th grade, regardless of moves/gaps/school changes.

And what if someone leaves Fairfax for a year or two (may have to do this for work) and then comes back. Do you have to reapply for AAP if your child was previously in the program?

Once you're in, you're in. If you move, you may be in-bounds for a different base school and/or center school. You would transfer, just like normal.

Our kids are still young, but we will be applying to AAP in 2 years. We don’t love where we live, but can’t move at the moment. My question is if we are accepted to the AAP program and then move within Fairfax county, I assume we would stay in the AAP program at the new school that we feed into?
