1 cup whole milk
3/4 cup sugar
2 cups heavy cream
1 tbsp vanilla extract
Try it.

We make ours with immersion-blended cottage cheese, a little jello pudding mix, and whatever we want it to taste like (fruit, peanut butter, chocolate, maybe protein powder). Even still, when it's first mixed it's like a kind of low-budget Dippin' Dots. I always have to add some milk or half and half and "re-spin" to get it creamy, but then it's fantastic.
I have done milk, sugar and flavor, milk and protein powder, added things in like oreos, m&ms...It is never great. I guess it needs cream.
I think it's actually the little bit of jello pudding powder that makes it smoother/creamier. But very little - maybe 1/2-3/4 teaspoon.
