Does it cover why Dan Aykroyd was there?

I always thought Diana Ross was a diva, but she came across as very likeable and humble in this documentary. And she was one of the few to wear the unflattering sweatshirt

It was fantastic. Waylon Jennings walking out like a big baby right in the middle? Dbag move.

And I was worried Bob Dylan was going to hand an aneurysm for a min there. Luckily he pulled it off. lol.

I don't think you know anything about music. Sheila E is one of the most talented percussion artists of the 20th century -- Prince, a musical genius, was in love with her because she was the closest thing he could find to an equal.

I’m sick in bed and am looking for good Netflix shows, so I really appreciate your post.

It was so fun to watch even if it’s a crappy song.

I’ve never been a MJ fan but I found him to be very sweet and earnest in it. It was right before he went over the edge. And “Lion-EL’s” 😀 stories about MJs animals were hysterical.

Bruce Springsteen is a treasure.

I watched this the other night. So much nostalgia. It was definitely better than I thought it would be.

This show (on Netflix) about the story behind the recording of We are the World was a LOT better than I thought it would be. A lot of nostalgia, a lot of amazing artists. The one-two combination of watching this and Tracy Chapman and Luke Combs perform gave me all the feels.

Extensive interviews with Lionel Richie, Bruce Springsteen, Sheila E, Huey Lewis, Cyndi Lauper, cameramen and sound techs who were there. Never knew the backstory of why Prince wasn't there. Waylon Jennings bailing when Stevie Wonder wanted to do lyrics in Swahili (until someone pointed out Ethiopians speak Amharic, at which point Stevie wanted lyrics in Amharic and Jennings was all ain't no good o'le boy gonna sing in Amharic and was out). Stevie showing Bob Dylan HOW TO SING LIKE BOB DYLAN.

If you're Generation X (or even if you're not), it's worth the watch. Two thumbs up, as Siskel and Ebert would have said.
