I wonder if he apologized to the (Dixie) Chicks before he died and maybe had some perspective. May be rest in peace.

I loved his music from "Wish I was a Cowboy" through to "I Love This Bar" and many, many more. What I didn't love was his leading the charge against the Dixie Chicks when they were banished from country music. I always wanted to see him live but couldn't bring myself. But, I did respect that he was his own unique person who made wonderful music and I shed a tear this morning listening to "Whose that man running my life". Hoping he found his perfect bar wherever he is.

I'm not sure. I think I'm just getter older and people close to my age are dying.

The average life expectancy is an average and by definition some people live shorter lives than that and some live longer. Looking back to my childhood, some friends' parents died in their early 40s, which seemed old to me at the time, and now seems so young.

My experience from a friend who had stomach cancer. You think you've beat it, and you start to get better, but it's really spread to another location. Then you go quickly.

We love Toby Keith. When my boys were toddlers they called his songs cowboy music because of Should Have Been a Cowboy. More recently I feel in love with a newer song, Don't Let the Old Man In --

One of my favorite singer performers.
Evidently he had been ill with cancer.
