Seen a few referees stop the game and tell the coach to make their parents behave or would issue a red card. Worked like magic.

The best coach my daughter ever had warned parents at the beginning of the season that if he heard anyone shouting instructions from the sideline, their daughter would get less playing time.

It was awesome.

Not finding much on this topic on DCUM, curious to hear anyone’s experience or opinion identifying signs of a toxic culture, and where those toxic cultures are present. A few external signs seem to go hand in hand with poor sportsmanship. Like numerous team parents berating, cursing at, or belittling referees from the sidelines throughout a match. Or after a match, the losing team coach or players going out of their way to not shake hands with the winning team (but would if they had won). I wonder if these losing team players are worried about receiving similar verbal abuse on the ride home? I've noticed a pattern of poor sportsmanship connected to a club or team having a toxic culture reputation, and where the players, parents, and coaches all appear miserable. It's both unfortunate and unnecessary.
