this is op - and you would think! but i've been trying to lose three pounds for about a year. my body likes to put on a few pounds and then hold them tight. i do eat salt but not crazy amounts. this is actual weight, not illusion weight. i got up here over the holidays when we were at my in-laws - all we do is eat for a week there.
also, i guess i don't help by really refusing to take any more extreme measures than eating three reasonably healthy meals per day, with some fruit between. i don't drink, don't eat much dessert - i do love a carb, though.
usually after i get back up to my argh weight - 127-128 - i can just cut back a little bit and soon be back down to 125-126, or even a little lower, within about a month. but the minute i eat a cookie i'm back up. it's frustrating!
i know, in the scheme of things, shut up this is nothing. but i really do have a whole bunch of jeans that are too tight to wear, and my doc feels i am too close to the upper limit of a healthy bmi. no one is talking about needing to make extreme changes, but come on, come on!
I totally understand, OP. Petite adults have a different scale of weight loss/gain that others don't understand. I am glad your doctor is taking you seriously, though.
I am like you. The only thing that works is rigid attention to calories. I have to eat less than I think I need to eat, because there are always little food extras the mind refuses to includeIf I get into a groove of eating less for a long period of time, then my weight starts to decrease very slowly. The times I am most likely to slip up are during PMS, when I crave chocolate and pasta. It's very difficult to manage cravings at that time.
Best of luck.
