OP you need a new dentist. In a sports accident years ago I lost 4 top front teeth. I have never had one of them come out and often get compliments on my teeth. I ended up getting cosmetic work on my bottom teeth so they’d match these. I don’t have implants - have a bridge and crowns. Look up top cosmetic dentists. It sounds like you’re just at a general dentist.

OP you have all my sympathy - I lost a molar nobody can see but me during the pandemic and it still really bothers me. I spent a couple of years with braces on as a teenager and for decades after dentists always praised my lovely teeth and it’s just a very sensitive issue to have lost one, in whatever manner.

I have not gotten an implant because of cost and current finances, but if it was a front tooth I absolutely would. You should consider it a matter not only of dental health but also mental health to get that implant ASAP. You’re worth it.

Are you sure you don't have a temporary? Call the dentist first thing Monday morning.

My husband also lost a tooth and he has a post+crown and has had no issues with it for years and years. Maybe try getting a second opinion from another dentist? Yours may just not be very good.

I don't. Sorry if it wasn't clear. The crown keeps falling off. I got it down on Friday and it came loose on saturday. I have been using glue to keep it on but my dentist said it will be a problem if it doesn't stay.

My exH had his front two teeth knocked out by our then-toddler. He got implants and you absolutely cannot tell a difference.

I have 4 implants and while the process was long and expensive, they are great now.
Start the implant process and move on with your life. No reason to prolong your misery.

OP both of my top two front teeth are implants. One is probably close to 15 years old and the other one I got last year. They look better than the originals and there’s nothing to it. Just get the damned implants.

OP, just a big virtual hug. I don't know why teeth issues like this are so emotional but they are. When I had to have a crown put on a couple years ago, I cried every time my tongue felt the hole where they had ground down my original tooth to make room for the crown. I don't know why, it just felt scary and upsetting.

So I get it. And dealing with it with a front tooth, in a job where you speak in front of others, must be especially hard.

But you will get through it. I can't rec my dentist as she's no longer working but once I got my permanent crown, things when back to normal and I stopped thinking about it... until my next dental issue (I currently have a cracked tooth and need a root canal that will likely necessitate another crown or maybe a bridge). Teeth stuff sucks.

I have a dental implant and it feels and looks exactly like a real tooth. This is the way to go.

I don't understand why you wouldn't go the implant route.

This is a huge issue and I'm really sorry. It would upset me to.

I also teach high school so when I talk without the crown I can't say words with the F sound. My dentist thought this would last a year at least.
