I’ve dated men from 5’6” to 6’3” and although the bigger equipment confers an advantage, the shorter ones were the keepers.

Most people are concerned about height of future children so a filter of 5'.8" for men and 5'.2 for women is common for apps but obviously in real life, people don't measure height.

My boyfriend is 5’8” (as am I), is a hot nerd so smart/handsome/funny. But he doesn’t quite understand the degree of his attractiveness.
I find him irresistible. When I am out with him other women swoon for him. He has an adorable smile; a respectful, kind, modest manner and does not even realize how much women lose it for him.

My guess is your son may not see what is right in front of him.

My brother is 5'6 and always had a million girls interested in him because he is funny, confident, and kind.

My husband is 5'7 and while I obviously didn't observe his dating life before we met, he did get married. I don't know how to say this without saying obnoxiously stuck-up but a lot of me pursued me, so it's not like he settled for someone who was undesirable.

So there are two stories. Don't stress about it. A lot of people who are great just don't have many relationships. He might need to work on his social skills and personality, but unless he asks you for advice, I wouldn't tell him that.

At 21, my super smart, funny, handsome, 6'1" DS1 also had never had a romantic relationship. My now-21 DS2, also smart, funny, handsome and 6'1", is currently in his first romantic relationship. It's not your son's height, it is kids these days.

My uncle was probably about 5'6 when he was younger (he's shrunk with age!) and married a very funny, sweet, successful woman. They divorced when they were in their fifties and he's always had an equally funny, sweet girlfriend. He's incredibly smart and fun to talk to. He was a lawyer and made good $$$ so that probably helped/helps!

If he's good looking women will overlook height. 5'6" is on the shorter side, but if he's good looking and funny he should not have a problem dating. There are so many girls between 5'2" and 5'5".

5' 6" is like literally the cut off for acceptably short s a guy. He's fine. I mean, that's average height for Asians and Hispanics.

If he were 5' 2" it would be another story.

My best fit is a short man,5 feet 7 inches I think. Eye to eye would be nice. I don't care for tall men, but I understand why the obsession. My own boys will be tall and the younger one is already talking about it. Must be the youtube.

I am 5’ and DH is 5’4”. We met during a summer internship and have been together ever since.

DH is intelligent and charming. He has had a very successful career and we are contemplating retirement now our youngest is college bound.

Height was never an issue for him given his personality. DS 5’6.5” is not the tallest amongst his friends and not the shortest. It also doesn’t bother him.

All women are available but shorter woman won't notice, as much. Wear very well tailored clothes (yes, get them tailored). Have confidence. Don't let it be assumed that height is the problem.

I know a 5'6" now male college student who's had at least 3 gf since HS. Maybe your DS just hasn't found someone he wants as a gf, or he's aiming too high? Has he mentioned this as a problem to you? If not, let it be. I get why you're concerned, but if he's not down about it, don't make it an issue.

When DS was 16, he was 5'6.5". He got a gf in HS. She was super cute and super smart. He is taller now at 18 and in college, but he's still with his other HS gf who is also 5'2", also super smart and super cute. Yes, he has a type.

FWIW, my family is short. My brother is barely 5'4". He's married.

DH is 5’6” and I’m 5’4” or 5’5”, so taller than him when I’m in heels. There are plenty of short-ish girls who like seeing eye-to-eye with a guy. But if he’s bothered by his height and feels insecure, that lack of confidence will come through.
