It means you are definitely not beautiful, gorgeous or hot, but you’re not a total uggo. You’ll get a few low-quality divorced dad dates.

Probably means the person who commented on your 48 year old looks and called you ‘cute’ is a misogynist like 9/10 of the human race, according to a recent UN global survey.

Probably means you're moderately attractive, possibly a bit round

In my circle of girlfeinds, "cute" is how we describe hot guys who aren't quite 'hot' but are extremely attractive.

I understand that a little girl could be cute but how is a grown woman cute?

My money is on that you are short and likely thin as well.

Op, have you ever told someone they have cute shoes? I'm sure you did not mean they were childish shoes. Please don't start putting more words on the "offensive list"

It means you’re attractive in an approachable, non intimidating sort of way. Not beautiful. But cute A casual comment on base attractiveness. 95% of the time used on short women.

Oh my God how privileged is your life that you are threatened by the idea being called attractive and youthful when you are trying to land a man after your Best Before date.

I would take it as a compliment

Sure, it's common for strangers to call other adults "cute".

LOL. Try another story.

Are you short? Do you have youthful features (round features, bigger forehead, dimples, etc.)? Do you wear a lot of color or prints, tend to accessorize in a way that is very matchy, or wear clothes that look a little retro?

For the record, none of this is bad. But it reads as "cute" in a way that other things don't.

I would accept these as compliments.

You're not alone. It's a common word used for grown women: https://www.huffpost.com/entry/women-40-attractive-looks_b_1475961
