I found someone great at Hair Cuttery and I'm so glad. I get highlights and it is significantly cheaper than the fancy Tysons salon I've frequented in the past. I actually had my hair done today and tipped her 30%. I even got in to see her last minute on the 31st when I decided I wanted my hair done for NYE. She's a 10/10.

During covid I've learned to cut hair. I can cut hair pretty well now and cut DH's hair about every 6 weeks.

It's also why I keep my hair long: so I can go maybe 2-3 times a year and get it cut. Sometimes I trim the ends on my own. So if you can have longer hair, it saves some money in the long run.
My dh goes to a cheaper men's barber shop once a month and tips well for a basic haircut.

I've tried fancy salons but I also found that if you find a good person at say great clips or haircuttery they do just as a good job for much cheaper. I usually end up tipping like it's a fancy salon because I appreciate it so much more.

How do normal families afford monthly or more afford haircuts for everyone?
$30 to $50 each, that's $2000/yr for haircuts!
